The room is not the work.
What becomes possible between people is.
AMONGKIND exists to strengthen the social infrastructure that shapes how we live, connect and lead.
We create spaces for meaningful human encounter, participation and inquiry — but our ambition goes beyond what happens inside a single room.
We are interested in what begins there, what travels beyond it, and what it can change over time.
A meaningful conversation matters.
So does what it makes possible afterwards.
A new relationship.
A different perspective.
A collaboration.
A change in how a group works.
A cultural space used differently.
An institution listening differently.
A new expectation of how people can gather, participate and belong.
AMONGKIND works at the human scale with a wider ambition: to contribute to cultural, institutional and, over time, systemic change.
The rooms are where we begin.
They are not where the impact ends.
Meaningful encounter
Whether people move beyond transactional interaction into conversations with depth, curiosity and consequence.
Belonging
Whether people feel able to enter, participate and be recognised without needing to perform their way into the room.
New connection
Relationships formed between people, disciplines, backgrounds, generations or communities that might not otherwise meet.
Participation
Whether people become contributors to the experience rather than simply an audience for it.
Continuity
What travels beyond the gathering: relationships, collaborations, changed perspectives, return participation and continued involvement.
Cultural change
Whether repeated experiences begin to influence how groups, organisations and institutions think about connection, participation, leadership and shared space.
Access
Who is able to enter the room, whose voice is present, and where financial, social or cultural barriers can be reduced.
We do not believe every meaningful outcome can be reduced to a number.
But we do believe impact should be examined.
Depending on the work, we may look at participant reflections, meaningful conversations, new connections, return participation, continued relationships, collaborations, changes in practice and what partners observe over time.
As AMONGKIND grows, so will the depth of that evidence.
Evidence matters.
So does honesty about what the evidence can and cannot tell us.
We do not want impact reporting to stop at: “120 people attended.”
We want to understand what became possible because those people were among us.
Because you were among us…
- people met who might not otherwise have met.
- a conversation continued beyond the room.
- someone encountered a new perspective, collaborator or community.
- a cultural space became somewhere to participate, not only observe.
- an organisation reconsidered how its people gather, connect or belong.
- an idea moved from one room into another.
- something began that did not exist before people entered the room.
AMONGKIND is building towards something larger than a programme of gatherings.
We are exploring how stronger forms of social and cultural infrastructure can contribute to a more connected, participatory and human future.
Individual encounters matter.
Relationships matter.
Culture matters.
Institutions matter.
Systems matter.
Our work begins between people — and follows what becomes possible from there.
AMONGKIND works with cultural institutions, communities, organisations, researchers, funders and partners interested in exploring how meaningful human connection, participation and belonging can shape the places, cultures and systems we share.
